At the forum, Chen Jinghe introduced the practice of green and high-quality development of the Zijinshan Gold and Copper Mine. He said that Zijinshan Gold and Copper Mine, as a practitioner of green and high-quality development, has become an excellent case of green and high-quality development of low-grade resources through continuous technological innovation.
In the 1980s, the Zijinshan gold-copper deposit made important prospecting breakthroughs. The prospecting results won the first prize of National Science and Technology Progress Award and the first prize of prospecting by the Ministry of Geology and Mineral Resources. After that, Zijinshan Gold and Copper Mine continued to innovate in thinking, causing a major fission of resources.

Chen Jinghe also introduced the current development status of my country's mining industry. He said that China's resource reserves and consumption are seriously imbalanced. In 2019, China’s major metal resource reserves accounted for 7% of the world’s gold, 4% of copper, 9.6% of iron, and 9% of zinc. In 2019, China’s major metal consumption accounted for 23% of the world’s gold and 47% of copper. %, iron is 53%, zinc is 48%. Taking copper concentrates as an example, the degree of dependence on foreign sources rose from 61% in 2007 to 76% in 2019; the degree of dependence on iron ore rose more rapidly, from 67% in 2013 to nearly 90% last year.
At the same time, the profitability of my country's metal mining companies is relatively low. According to the China Enterprise Federation's "2019 China Top 500 Enterprises Development Report", the average net profit of the listed metal mining companies is only 200 million yuan, and the return on net assets is 0.92%; while the average net profit of the 500 companies on the list is 7.1 billion yuan , The return on net assets is 9.65%.
"These all show that the mining industry urgently needs green and high-quality development solutions, such as the development of a large number of low-grade and difficult-to-treat mineral resources through a series of technology and management innovation." Chen Jinghe said.
