Bahlil Lahadalia, minister of investment and director of the Investment Coordinating Agency (BKPM), said the government would ban bauxite and tin exports this year to support downstream mining.

Speaking at the G20 Road: Investment Forum entitled "Accelerating Sustainable and Inclusive Investment" on Monday, Bali said the ban was a response to President Joko Widodo's directive on downstream construction and the construction of plants based on environmental protection and renewable energy.
"The ministry of Investment is transforming the economy through natural resource management methods or downstream. The government banned nickel exports. In the near future, the government will ban the export of bauxite and tin by the end of the year, "he said.
Bali explained that banning mineral exports would encourage downstream industries to create maximum added value for the country.
